How will the information submitted to CellCoverage.com be used?
The information will be used to 1) map the submitted locations so that 2) the type and extent of coverage issues that exist in the vicinity of the submitted location or locations can be evaluated. Once the coverage issues are understood, CellCoverage.com will make the information available to the appropriate resources in an attempt to extend or improve cell phone reception in the designated areas.
Should I expect a reply?
Updates are available via the Status & Updates tab of this web site. If additional information is required to process a submitted location (and if you provided an email address), you will receive an email requesting additional information required for mapping purposes.
Can all cell phone reception issues be addressed or corrected?
Not all situations will have solutions. Many factors, including carrier financial parameters, community zoning issues, topographical limitations, available resources, etc. affect the ability to implement one or more of the various approaches required to improve coverage. The objective is to address as many of the submitted locations as is practical and to implement solutions when feasible. Solutions range from existing site upgrades to the development of new sites.
What happens with the information submitted?
Possible uses of the information include; carrier network modifications, planning or zoning board reviews, new site development and additional site review. In some cases, if previous or current initiatives have revealed that corrective measures are not feasible in the area, then no action will be possible.
How soon will a coverage modification take place if a solution is feasible?
Corrective measures, if deemed to be feasible, can take from several months to several years, depending on restrictions in the area, financial or development timetables. Timeframes typically range from 6 - 24 months, with the solutions that involve restrictive zoning conditions or require significant financial expenditures taking substantially longer than more simplistic solutions.
Does it matter if another person has already entered information for the same location that I entered?
The volume of unique entries for a particular location is often, but not always, reflective of the intensity of the coverage issue. It is important that anyone who is experiencing a coverage issue submits the location on the CellCoverage.com web site. As the data is presented to the various resources for review, the volume of entries can provide an indication of the extent of the coverage issue.
