ricci i have no bars, if u call my cell from the land line it goes straight to voice mail, but my neighbor, who is about 3 houses away can receive calls from my land line to his cell phone which is also the same carrier. I have noticed some trouble with dropped calls since at&t bought cingular, with cingular i had no complaints. What would cause no bars, but allow my voice mail to pick up? If the company knows the service is out in a certain area they should find some way to notify their customers regarding the situation.

Linn Perry County, Ohio, Monroe Township: hill country and difficult to maintain two way radio of any kind save only with long-wave frequencies. No cell service in village of Corning, and none between Crooksville and Glouster. This is a safety gap.

Randolph There is a dead zone centered around Canton Rd. from Ellet south through Springfield Township. In this 3-4 mile long zone, the coverage varies between zero and 2 bars. My house (near Canton/ Killian) is usually 1; Springfield High School is usually 2; Giant Eagle supermarket is a dead flat zero inside, and maybe a 1 outside. I have had very few successful calls in this area unless I stand completely still. I had this problem with my new LG 8550 and an older LG 4500 phone; upgrading did not help the reception. Having said this, I am *very happy with the coverage everywhere else I go, from Wisconsin to Ohio to Delaware.

Colette Dropped calls and not able to make calls when I sit in a certain spot on my couch in the living room; in my bedroom; part of my kitchen; spare bedroom. I have an LG. My husband has a Motorola and, although it doesnt hold its charge as long as my LG does, he does not experience dropped calls or other dead zone problems.

Ryan We have just about no service anywhere around here in Pine City. When my fiance left my house she wiped out in the snow and got stuck in a ditch. She couldnt contact anyone on account of having no sevice, and I couldnt contact her. Luckily she was okay, but I would like to prevent this from happening again. Oh and plus my family would like to replace our landlines with cellphones but we cant get any service, so theres some more customers that Verizon could get. I hope this will get service up in my area, Thanks, Ryan

JF A cellular tower was built years ago South of town. It seems that a few more feet of tower would correct the issue. Another spec tower has been placed in town as well. This would cover the Town of Jackman and many of the surrounding areas. If a Nextel type system was used where you can use your phones as two way radios off the system, loggers could also use these working in the woods to increase safety, possibly eliminate the need for company two way radios, which would reduce costs to the logging and woods working companies as well as free up radio frequencies that are limited. The US Customs and Border protection would also benefit from increased cellular reception which in turn would also benefit Homeland Security.
